EventsLinwood United Church invites you

The Season of Lent

Jesus said that in this world we would have troubles.

Lent is a time to focus on developing a Christ-like attitude. It is a time to practice saying “no” to ourselves in little things so we can say a bigger “yes” to God. Ages ago believers gave up meat to suffer hardship remembering Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness before his earthly ministry.

Today, we can give up so many other things as we prepare to feel the joy of Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday. Because in the end, that is what it is all about. Pain and daily troubles are temporary, but a relationship with Christ is what gives us hope, bringing us to the joy of eternal life.
